Hebrews.12:2 ‘Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith…’
We give God praise for this maiden edition of the ‘Apostolic Christianity Journal’. This is indeed a much-needed Christian resource, especially in contemporary times. From the plethora of rather unusual events and occurrences all around us, we know and we can rightly conclude that we are in the very end of the End-times. A time that all genuine believers and followers of Christ must be sober, and be vigilant, because our adversary the devil, more than ever before, is going about like a roaring lion, seeking the one(s) to devour (1Pet. 5:8) because he knows his time is very, very short. May we always stay outside the reach of this arch-enemy of our souls, and never be a victim of his deceit and manipulations.
Apostolic Christianity of this dispensation can be traced way back to the Day of Pentecost as recorded in the book of Acts chapter 2 in the Bible when the world witnessed a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit with signs and wonders. This happened because the 12 apostles/disciples of Jesus Christ followed strictly the tenets and teachings of Christ to the letter. In fact, the Church is built on ‘The Foundation of the Apostles’; and the Church is also preserved throughout all generations till Jesus Christ returns by keeping wholly to and following through on these doctrines.
We are indeed in very strange and unusual times. Iniquity certainly abounds now more than ever before, and there is a rapid decline of Godly values, righteousness and holy living which are indispensable if we MUST spend eternity with God in Heaven. There are many profane and vain babblings all around us. There are many strange doctrines and strange voices calling for our attention so as to distract, deceive, confuse and turn our hearts away from the True and Living God. This is not so surprising because the Bible expressly warns us of this dispensation.
Sadly now, there is a glaring difference between the apostles’ doctrine that is stated in the Bible, which also our fathers in the faith observed and adhered strictly to; and what we now have in Christendom. And we do know that God does not change His standard.
The Bible loudly warns us of these times, in which we are told that it will be difficult to be a Christian, and God Almighty Himself says if it were possible, even the ‘elect’ will be deceived.
This Journal therefore seeks to turn back our hearts to God Almighty, to seek Him in Spirit and in Truth; and not be deceived or derailed by any wind of doctrine. To remain strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, and overcome all the evil that abounds in these times. We must also build up strength in the Holy Spirit so as not to faint in these days of adversity that are already upon us, because things will become much more challenging; and we must be prepared, and be battle-ready. The Goodnews is – Jesus has overcome the world, and He has made us His children overcomers; if we abide in Him and allow Him to abide in us. We must stay true and faithful, strong and resolute; and be able to always hear and identify His voice and obey, and not hear and obey the voice of any stranger.
Jesus Christ is at the centre of it all, He is the express Image of our loving Heavenly Father and our ever-faithful High Priest; the Way, the Truth and the Life; etc, etc. It is therefore right and proper that He is the focus of this maiden edition. This does not mean that subsequent editions will not focus on Him though. He remains forever highly esteemed and celebrated beyond what words can describe.
And so in this edition, we present a discuss on ‘Jesus Christ, our Man in glory’ from a number of perspectives; as we trust God that an unquenchable fire of revival will be ignited in the hearts of all believers, and we will return to the Ancient Paths wherein our fathers trod, and do greater works than Jesus Christ as He has so commanded us in John.14:12. Thus we will indeed be a reflection of Jesus Christ – our Man in Glory… in Spirit and in Truth to the glory and praise of our Heavenly Father.
